With the rapid development of industrial production, the discharge of industrial wastewater is increasing.Sewage80% of which is industrial sewage as a major source of pollution, its impact on the environment and human health, is a serious problem facing mankind. Among them, the treatment of high-salt wastewater has also become a major problem. High-salt wastewater pollution has attracted great attention from the country. It is forbidden to discharge high-concentration salt-containing wastewater into the environment, and membrane separation technology is used for wastewater treatment.

The high-salt wastewater produced by a chemical plant in Zibo, Shandong, was produced during the production of zirconium oxychloride. The raw materials used are mainly zircon sand, flake caustic soda (or granular caustic soda) and hydrochloric acid, which have gone through the processes of alkali fusion, water washing, transformation, acidification, crystallization, water soluble filtration, acid washing and centrifugation. The wastewater is produced in the transformation process, the main component is sodium chloride, the content is about 3%, and other trace impurities.

Shandong Tianwei Membrane Technology Co., Ltd. has designed a systematic process flow for this kind of high-concentration salt-containing wastewater through many times of communication and field experiments. Finally, it has selected reverse electrodialyzer, reverse osmosis system, electrochemical denitrification and other processes to make the high-salt wastewater fully recycled and achieve zero discharge. Based on the principle of "reduction, reuse and resource utilization (I. e. 3R)", the project not only solves the problem of concentrated water discharge and treatment for enterprises, but also reduces the consumption of salt and pure water in chlor-alkali plants.
