On October 15, 2021, sponsored by the Electric Drive Membrane Professional Committee of China Film Industry Association and Weifang Talent Work Leading Group Office, Shandong Tianwei Membrane Technology Co., Ltd., China University of Science and Technology, Weifang High-tech Industrial Development Zone Party Working Committee The 8th China Electric Drive Membrane Technology Seminar hosted by the Committee, Weifang Science and Technology Innovation Promotion Center, and MDPI Membranes was successfully held in Weifang Oriental Hotel.

This "Electrically Driven Membrane Seminar" is following the "First Session" of Zhejiang Lin 'an in 2009, the "Second Session" of Shandong Weifang in 2011, the "Third Session" of Zhejiang Ningbo in 2013, the "Fourth Session" of Anhui Hefei in 2015, the "Fifth Session" of Zhejiang Hangzhou in 2016, the "Sixth Session" of Fujian Nanping in 2017 and the "Seventh Session" of Guangdong Shenzhen in 2019, the eighth professional event organized and attended by research institutions, production enterprises and application units in the field of electric film. More than 200 representatives from 92 universities, institutes and enterprises across the country attended the meeting. The conference set up a main venue and two sub-venues, and organized a total of 9 conference reports, 25 special reports and 14 doctoral reports.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Liu Zhaoming, Secretary General of the Electric Drive Membrane Professional Committee of China Membrane Industry Association. Bi Jingwei, deputy director of Weifang Talent Development Service Center, Gao Congyi, professor of Zhejiang University of Technology and academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Wang Jiwen, secretary general of China Film Industry Association, delivered speeches respectively.

25 experts and scholars from universities and enterprises across the country gave special reports to share their latest research progress and scientific and technological achievements, and exchange future development trends, industry problems and solutions in the field of technology.

Doctoral students from Tsinghua University, University of Science and Technology of China and other first-class universities in China give special doctoral reports to report on scientific research progress and share academic achievements. The expert judges of the seminar selected on the spot, and finally selected 2 first prizes, 4 second prizes, and 8 third prizes for excellent reports, and gave 1000 yuan, 600 yuan, and 400 yuan cash awards and certificates respectively.

During the meeting, a working meeting of the members of the Electric Drive Membrane Professional Committee of the 2021 China Film Industry Association was held to exchange views on outstanding and hot issues in the development of the industry, and put forward the next work plan: 1. Build the website and public number of the Electric Drive Membrane Special Committee, and build a platform for the display and communication of the electric drive membrane industry; 2. Units interested in hosting the next seminar on electric drive membrane technology shall submit their application, before the end of the year, the plan for organizing the next seminar will be determined. 3. Formulate a plan for the compilation of electric-driven membrane monographs; 4. Hold training courses on electric-driven membrane technology; 5. Announce the constitution of the special committee, standardize the management system of the special committee, and spit out the old and take in the new.

Finally, Xu Tongwen, director of the Electric Drive Membrane Professional Committee of China Film Industry Association, made a concluding speech. The seminar was closed with warm applause.
